The X-Ray Technologist II positions patient as needed to obtain optimal images and prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Performs radiological imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. Being a X-Ray Technologist II files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related administrative duties. Develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies. In addition, X-Ray Technologist II typically requires an associate degree in a related area. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Being a X-Ray Technologist II works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a X-Ray Technologist II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
