To become an x-ray technician, you’ll need to attend a college or university for additional education. The best way to do this is to attend an Associate degree program, such as the one offered through Cambridge. Our program takes approximately 2 years to complete from start to finish.
You’ll also need to perform hands-on training during your time at school through a clinical externship. This will help you further enhance your skills and give you confidence for your career.
After you complete an Associate degree program, you’ll need to take and pass the ARRT exam to become a certified x-ray tech. Although not required, it’s a great way to showcase your skills to future employers. After you receive your certification, you’ll be ready for entry-level employment.
