Job Description
The Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients’ medical record. Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Being a Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) may be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. In addition, Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires Health Care Assistant certificate (state). Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)‘s years of experience requirement may be unspecified.
